First Steps: let’s talk background & how we got started
fueling a hobby
My client Eric plays frisbee golf for fun and has been customizing golf discs to help fund this hobby. Recently, his Sporty Spins Discs Etsy account began to stack up several disc orders a week. He wanted to add a cool freebie (like stickers) to his Etsy orders, which meant time for some legitimate branding.
Next Steps
Eric made a simple logo on a free website several years back, but he felt it was time to take this growing side hustle more seriously and give it a full brand overhaul. We started off with the logo upgrade.
These are some of the spin-dyed golf discs Eric has created.
Business Update!
After just two months, my client Eric shared how much his new professional branding had positively impacted his company. Here are some updates:
RESEARCH & DISCOVERY: UNDERSTANDING THE BUSINESS

DESIGN PROCESS: ALL THE ITERATIONS
DIGITAL WIP: iterations for days
Since Eric already had a general idea of what he was looking for, I focused on polishing the existing elements, finding the perfect colors and making sure the final design was fun and unique, just like his business. I browsed through his Sporty Spins Instagram page and mimicked some of his most popular colors and patterns to bring that personality to his logo.
FINAL DESIGNs: WE HAVE A BRAND!
we couldn’t pick just one
After reviewing my designs for a couple days, Eric ended up loving 3 different color variations. Since his discs are all very unique with different patterns and colors, we felt it was appropriate to have a few color variations of his logo to switch out throughout the seasons. He absolutely loved the final designs and has implemented them across all of his socials and website pages. He even made stickers that he is now adding to his Etsy orders. I had a lot of fun putting together these designs and am happy with where we landed. Plus, I’ve got some pretty cool stickers of my designs now!
